This collection of photographs, gathered in honor of our 20th Anniversary, depict the busy first days of the Hazy Moon Sangha including its inception as an informal group practicing at the home of Mr. Kelly Stevens Sr.; the August 1997 purchase of 1651 S. Gramercy Place, where the zendo was in the living room and the altar in the dining room before the construction of the current third-floor zendo; the first of what would become more than 50 Jukais, 23 Tokudos, 27 Shuso Hossens and numerous baby blessings; an important visit by our patron and supporter Takeshi Roshi, Maezumi’s brother; and the dedication of Koun-Ji Temple by Bishop Gengo Akiba of the North American Soto Zen Mission on August 23, 1998. Enjoy these reflections of our joyful sangha, dedicated practice, and abiding appreciation for Living Dharma.
